    Default no sat nav after flat battery/alternator failure

    hi all im gonna start a new thread as since i have changed my alternator i have no sat nav ? it will not load,switch on,or eject disc.funny thing is the stereo works fine ? is there a fuse for sat nav or any way of sorting this out,dealer said they can plug diagnostic in but am guessing they will want silly money ? any ideas folks thanks,carl.

    vauxhall told me they wanted £33 just for a new radio code as we lost the radio when our alternator went couple months ago

    Any one have anything i can try ? Ive disconected battery again for about 10 seconds and i have disconected the stereo/sat nav plugs at the back,still nothing.i need to get it sorted realy folks so anything you can think of,thanks-carl.

    Seems odd but if you disconect the battery then you need the radio code

    Yes mate its weird ! The radio comes on instantly and all preset stations still there ?

    If the steering wheel has 6 buttons, then you need a code.

    If the steering wheel has 4 buttons and 2 scroll wheels, then you don't need a code (other than if you change the either the stereo or display as the two are married up together as a paired unit)
