As everyone on here knows, if you don't have the sport button.....then it "can't" be retrofitted to a Vec-C/Signum

I know paul.sessions used a sport button with a latching relay to power my old Steinbauer box on his dti but has anyone tried anything more tricky?

My theory is that as the Vec has a fly by wire throttle pedal, couldn't some sort of resistor be fitted to the pedal to limit the signal coming from it and then when the sport button is pressed the resistor is taken out of circuit giving the car full throttle response?

Have I lost my mind or am I talking some sort of sense?

So you don't want a sports button just some limiting button ?

Well the pedal would be limited all of the time but when the button is pressed then the limit would be lifted off the pedal.

The throttle response is changed with the factory sport button (as well as the IDS)

Well I read that post as saying that the resistor would limit the cars normal performance and the sports button would put it back to normal again ??

Seems a bit backwards m8. Sorry m8, you spent money on a remap and you wish to have this only on demand when a button is pressed?

I would also love a working sport button even if it does limit normal driving more.

That said did you not tell me there was a Steinbauer box available for the CDTI 150, which connects to the injectors? Why not have the button switch this on for some extra poke? I don't know how feasible this would actually be on top of the remap. This potentially could give you switchable performance if you looked into getting a hybrid turbo. I remember a certain bloke agreeing to sell you his turbo for £50 when he gets a hybrid done.
