Default Tried out some Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine

Tried something different (for me at least) today, as in the title - Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine.
Now this stuff is supposed to be suited to dark coloured cars so thought i'd give it a try.
I applied it with my Porter Cable polisher and it soon started to do the trick. In no time at all i was getting a deep shine with the only downside being the usual AG chalky dust covering everything ! This was soon removed though with some Meguiars Last Touch detailing spray and microfibre cloths.
After the machine polishing was done, i applied a coat of PoorBoys Black Hole glaze by hand, so i could get into all the difficult areas that machines can't get into so easily.
As you can see, the paint looks lush and wet - just the way black cars should look.

I've been singing the praises of Autoglym UDS for months and months it's fantastic stuff on a dark car and all I use on mine normally as the main polish (although I did use Black Hole on it for Brentwood). Blackhole is the same sort of filler polish as UDS though not a glaze (unless they do a Black Hole glaze I don't know about), so putting it over the top of the UDS will just have given you another layer, so you need to put a glaze or sealant over it.

I've never found UDS to leave a chalky residue though, certainly SRP does that's for sure especially if you use too much of it, but never seen it from UDS.

    Looks superb Fil

Do you need a car polisher, or can you do this by hand?

yes you can do this by hand , but polisher is a lot easier , i had my carlton full corrected 2 years ago , and now i just keep it up to spec , and it still looks the dogs , even though the paint is 25 years old

You can do any polishing by hand, you may not get quite such good results as you do with a machine with some polishes but the majority of people don't have a machine to hand.

The autoglym range is designed for hand polishing and is very easy on and off, you should get good results.

Ian, Black Hole is a glaze. Info below is from their website.

    PoorBoys - Black Hole

Formulated exclusively for dark colored vehicles.
Poorboys Black Hole glaze cleans and fills light swirl marks to leave a brilliant, glossy, slick show car shine. It can be applied any time to hide minor imperfections and to enhance gloss on black, red, and all dark vehicles.Poorboys Black Hole Show Glaze for Dark Vehicles makes it easy to maintain a show car shine, even on daily drivers. You know how tough it is to detail as often as you’d like. You can’t get out the polisher for every new swirl. Poorboys Black Hole Show Glaze for Dark Vehicles allows you to hide minor imperfections on dark vehicles until you can remove them.
Poorboys Black Hole Show Glaze for dark vehicles is a wipe on, wipe off product. Spread with a soft, clean foam applicator. If applying by machine, set your polisher to a low speed and work until a shine begins to appear.
