Default What size socket for 1.8vvt 2006 spark plugs?

Had a good search on here for the right size socket to remove the spark plugs on my vec. I could not get a definate answer as there are a few references to 12mm and 14mm

Could someone confirm the correct size for me please before I visit Halfrauds for a removal tool and new spark plugs please

    Thanks very much

If your going to Halfords to get one anyway mate.

Just pull coil pack out. And ask them if you could try a few of the spark plug sockets to get the correct size.

    Ive done that before.

    Only ever seen 2 types/sizes.

The larger ones wont down the hole if the plug is 'in the head' like the most modern engines.

Thanks Critch. I was hoping to get right size so I don't have to do that. Misses is away and I have two kids to look after who get bored very quickly lol.

Hi Lee. Halfords seem to have a few sizes 10,12 and 14 mm which just added to my small dilema.

Worst case is I do what Critch says but hopefully someone knows the correct size.

Thanks for your replies though lads

    Thanks guys.

This is what I found from previous threads on this subject. It seems people have there own size preference which lead to my confusion.

Going to pop down to Halfords and do what Critch said as it seems to be the only way to get a definative answer.

I hope im not coming across rude its just im a fussy ****** at the best of times and want to get the exact correct size.

Nothing wrong using the right tool.

Another option is to go to halfords and get a new plug they list for the car and try it as they might not let you try the tool as they can mark the outsides somtimes.
