Eek Insurance and mods....

Just phoned direct line to see what the hike would be for

    1. GSi brake upgrade
    2. Lowered suspension
    3. Remap

Now, bearing in mind that the policy expires on 1st April, and I pay £30 a month anyway, have a guess what the new premium would be?......

    double!!!!

An EXTRA £30 a month!! Think I'll be giving Adrian Flux a ring next year then

They are taking the p1ss by the sound of it. I would look for some other insurance company too.

Just make sure that any company you do go with will put the car back to its modded state and not just back to standard I'm so glad i did as they paid out for the mods too. Another company would have just given me the value of the car.

I think the trouble with "mainstream" insurers is that they expect you to be mainstream too. If you're an an enthusiast then you need an insurance co. that understands.

Adrian Flux don't mind mods and are very good on price.........all the youngsters round here with ALL their mods are with them and as I say very good on price, they also insure like for like i.e. all the fancy body kits some of them have round here most will only insure for replacing with standard parts but Aidrian Flux insures like for like replacement

Adrian Flux can be very expensive, they wanted £790 to insure mine with the mods and business class 2 use. The underwriter is Highway insurance.

I called Brokers, Barry Grainger, and they covered everything and business class 2 use, £500 fully comp and the under writer is still Highway Insurance!!

This to me appears that Adrian Flux wanted a much greater mark up on their fee's.

Agree with Matt, A Flux expensive. Direct Line quoted me an extra £100/ year for my remap - although I did push the "better fuel economy" argument!

    But...

Forgot to say, DL would alter my excesses. They would go up too..

    £60 glass
    £400 Fire & theft
    £450 Accidental damage!!

I'm going to have to start phoning in the new year! Might just bite the bullet and pay the extra till april, because I really can't wait to start adjusting
