    Default 1.9cdti fuel pump leak

    Hi all,

Traced a minor weep to the back of the fuel pump where the little housing bolts on.

Some chump has stripped the head out of one of the bolts so wondering how easy it is to remove the pump, remove the housing seal it and fit new bolts?

Can you get a new gasket for that bit?

    Thanks in advance

Cam belt removal, easily done on a drive with a jack supporting the engine from under neath because you have to remove the engine mount. Read up on the Cam belt change.

I suspected the belt would need to come off, is there no tensioner to release it?

Might have to wait til the weekend, was hoping to whip it off this afternoon :/
    thanks for the reply

For the replacement gasket get the pump number and try calling helptoday

    http://www.helptoday.co.uk

They should be able to get the bosch gasket if anyone can.

Well thats 4 hours of my life I wont get back!

Got it all stripped down to take the pump off - could I hell get the casting off to get access to the cambelt. Just had to put it back together again

    Fuming is an understatement!!

Is there any knack to getting it off?

The engine side of the mount, which covers the cambelt tensioner

    Cheers

2 bolts underneath, and 3 on top. One of the bolts is covered by the aux tensioner, so you need to remove that. This will be the one holding you back!!

The Cambelt doesn't actually have to come off, you can lock the pulley in place, and remove the pump i think ? Search for replacing Inlet Manifold, as it's the same procedure.
