Default 3500 rpm then limp mode 1.9 cdti

If i accelerate hard it will go into limp mode and spaner light comes on, can drive slowly through gears and do 80 -90 mph in 6th , Cleaned egr cleaned boost sencor, after checking forum tried to run engine hard in 4th now have a blown pipe from manifold to egr, have left it at a garage that i have not used before they seem to think that the glow plugs and the pipe may have been fractured was the cause of the limp home mode.
The car has 167k and for the last 50k the swirl valves have been disconected (knackered) Will glow plugs cause the car to shut down 3 out of 4 where not working when removed

I assume that the split pipe is from the exhaust manifold to the EGR, as I don't think the 150 has a pipe between the EGR and inlet manifold. If it's split it needs replacing or blanking to eliminate this as the cause of the spanner light.
Anyway, the symptoms you describe sound more like a vacuum hose leak to me (from what happened on my 120). Check the narrow rubber vacuum pipes first, particularly at connections and bends/elbows - I'm not sure where they are on the 150. A split can be difficult to see, so check thoroughly.
As always though, get the error codes checked if you can as these will help the diagnosis.

Cheers will get them to check all pipes for splits, was conserened about changing glow plug as they are only used at start up so would they cause the power problem or are they just following their snap on diagnosti tool to the letter

Hmm, as you have a Signum, you probably have a DPF which would be why you ran it around in 4th gear I guess! The reason for this would be to trigger the regeneration cycle to clear the DPF, but if you managed to blow the exhaust manifold pipe to EGR, maybe the DPF is seriously blocked and the back pressure from the exhaust was enough to rupture a weak hose?! I've not heard of anyone blowing this pipe like this though.
You need the fault codes read. If the garage have read the codes, ask for them. If not, you may be able to get the codes yourself using the pedal test (see the How2 on this site). I think P1901 is the usual code for a blocked DPF.
