    Default Remap + blanking EGR?

ok i know it sounds a bit dumb, but i have read when people get a remap they also blank the EGR. why is that?

will it not use more fuel or cuase the engine to run rich or not rich enough etc?

    can someone please explain

Search the forum for EGR BLANKING to find the benefits of blanking it. The reason people do it at the same time as a remap is that the EGR needs mapping out of the ECU to stop the EML light triggering, so while the computer's plugged in it's more cost effective to do it all at once.

I Blanked mine off and with the remap you will see an increase in mpg , as above having the egr mapped out will help prolong the manifold as the crud will not re-enter it to be re-burnt . I have never had any issues since doing this
