Will this stop my 501's strobing?

I have fitted SMD 501 can bus compatible bulbs to my head lights and all is well with them excet for the fact they strobe due to the bulb checking system...

I spotted these

not seen these i fitted resistors to stop bulb error and worked fine not sure what these do but for £5 give them a go and post up your results m8

I hope they work for you, but as it only is resistors in the kit, I think it will still strobe...
I think maybe a condensator in series with the power wire could be a fix, but I may be wrong.

Will top but error but they'll still flash as I solders my own resistors in.

It need a capacitor in series with bulb to stop them

Got them, fitted them and..... Made sod all difference.. Still strobing!

I may try cutting the wires and splicing in a second bulb holder with glass 501's to see if that makes any difference...

Thoughts on this folks?

Save yourself the work, its still gonna strobe.
The only solution as I can see it is to put a capacitor in seriers with the power.
I don't know which type or values to go for yet.

I guess the other option is a session with Tech2 to turn off the check function for all the bulbs...

I dont think Op Com can do that but Tech2 might be able to!

A low value resistor can fool the OBD in thinking it checks an incandescence bulb, but it has nothing to do with strobing.

You can see the LEDs strobing because the check signal is too short to heat standard bulbs filaments enough to produce visible light, but LEDs have almost no inertia and respond immediatly, thus providing a visible flash of light.

To overcome this problem, you'll have to insert some sort of signal delaying device so they light up only when the current is maintained for a while, I think at least more 1 second. I'm still working on this. BTW, there are some ready-made devices around aimed at HID that should work, such as these ones :

But don't use the rubbish you cited, as they'll just heat a lot, plus your "can bus compatible" LED bulb obvioulsy have a much better electronic anti-error device included already.

On the other hand there's absolutely nothing you can do with the Tech2 to stop the OBD from checking the sidelights bulbs. It can be done only for the low beam lights because they can be xenon from factory (and the flash from the check signal would destroy the xenon bulbs, as they don't like this at all).
