Default O/S/F window adrift from regulator

    Hi guys

My 57 vectra hatch osf window became detached from the regulator. I have lowered the window as normal and when it got to the bottom it went with a bit of a bang. The motor still sounds operational and I have manually closed the window by pulling up the glass by hand
    Three things
    1) is there a common fault people are aware of
    2) how is the glass attached to the regulator
    3) is the door card fairly easy to remove

Had this with my driver's door window; the spot-welds fracture and the motor no longer works the lift/drop mechanism. I got my garage to sort it as it was beyond my expertise although the door-card came off fairly easily. I believe it is a common-ish problem.

That sounds very possible. How was it fixed?

Don't like the sound of that. Guess there's only one way to be sure. If regulator is faulty is it the the sort of thing I could find as a pattern part

Try euro car parts, they stock loads of different window regulators and motors
