Default 3,0CDTi SCV! Do I need to say more?

"Finally" my Suction Controll Valves broke down...

Started couple weeks ago, was driving slow and steady for about an hour because of traffic. With wery little fuel, the lamp for low fuel came on.
Then finally i was able to pass some cars, it pulled of like never before, but as soon as i let of the gas i got the service spanner up in the instrument.
The sound from the engine changed and there were almost no power left. Drove of to next petrol station, stopped the car and started again, but the spanner was still there and the engine reved sluggish. Topped up with diesel and it was back to normal.
So i figured and hoped it was just a "safty program" to prevent me to run out of diesel...

But this weekend it started to judder more than normal, and felt a little sluggish, i started to provoce it, suddenly total loss of power and judder. And this problem comes and goes.
    So i'm pretty sure it's time to change SCV's, it's a 03. and driven almost 130000km.

Tried to order the parts from my lokal Opel dealer, but he said that he could just get me a complete diesel pump, then i gave him Field Remedy 1957...
Then he found a SCV-kit, but pricy i would say, it will cost me about £500 just for the parts.

Then i contacted a diesel specialist, they are all BOSCH specialist around here, but can also get Denso parts.
But he couldn't find out which SCV's i need for my car, he needed the part number for the diesel pump or the SCV's, I gave him the Opel numbers but it didn't help him...
Do some of you know the denso part numbers?

And then my big question that goes out to all of you that have got your SCV's changed(Or owns a Y(Z)30DT):
How much did you have to pay for the SCV kit?

I'm planning to do it my self and change the cambelt the same time, do you have to take the dieselpump out, or is it possible to reach the SCV's somehow?

The SCV kit contains two SCV
Here in the UK this pack will cost you about £150
If they are so expensive in your country, it may be cheaper to order them here in the UK, then fly and collect them

Sadly due to their location there is no easy access

Is that the Vauxhall dealer price?
Then maybe i'll have to try to get it posted over from England.
Going to Manchester in October but i dont think the engine will run till then...

But i just found this site and e-mailed over to the diesel specialist:
    http://injection-automotive.blogspot...rch/label/OPEL
    http://injection-automotive.blogspot...injection.html
    http://injection-automotive.blogspot...injection.html

So hopefully he can figure out somthing from this, and give me a nice price...

Oh trust me...it can. I think I first had problems with SCVs in July 2010 when the car would just randomly not start. I replaced them in September 2011 (55000km later!) when the car became undriveable.
As for the price of the parts I think you have to take into account that you're from Norway and everything is more expensive there (most expensive fuel in the world, etc.)

That is the approximate retail price
If you are a Full Member here and you have a trade card it will be even cheaper

If you can source them yourself, then any diesel specialist only needs to know whether they are for the Y30DT or Z30DT engine

I filled it up with some Valvoline Diesel system cleaner, it helped a litte, but still i suddenly loose power. Drove up a hill in about 30-40km\h, with the TC off, floored it and it just geared down and stuck at 3000rpm. Released the gas pedal quick and pressed it all the way inn again, then it actually lost traction and pulled off like it's supposed to be!

The valves are now orderd, got them from a diesel specialist in norway for about £250.

Planning to swap them around this weekend.
Do i need any more parts then the acual valves, like gaskets and stuff for the inlet manifold?

Is it really needed to do the Tech2 work or will it self adapt?
Talked to a Opel technician here, but he had no clue what i had to do.

All the instructions are included in Field Remedy 1957
This includes an update to the EMS, which must also be carried out on completion of refitting the two SCV

I would say Its not a difficult job if you have TIS 2000 and the field remedy, but in deed time demanding.

It wasn't that difficult, just annoying to se how stupid things are put in over each other, the worst thing was to take out the EGR with the cooler (tokyo radiator) i would say.

I had the field remedy and the instructions how to take out the HP pump.
But after page 8 of 32 i just changed the SCV's, didn't bother taking the pump out, removing the timing gears and belt and all that...

But the tech2 work is still to do, but I can't ser why, works like a charm now!
