Default Is it right to only have one rear fog light working ?

    Me again.
I have a good fog light bulb in my near side rear cluster, but only the off side one comes on. I originally thought it must be a supply problem, but every veccy I've seen since with rear foggys on has only had the o/s/r lit. Is this right ?

    That's weird.
Well I suppose at least I've got a spare bulb as it's the same as the reverse lamp and probably the indicator too

I'm amazed they'd bother to give you the bulb for free if they haven't wired the socket in...

It used to be the other way around - you got a wired in socket (presumably for other markets that require two rear fogs) but either a blanking cap or no bulb. You therefore had to simply buy a bulb in order to get two rear fogs.

Saw a Zafira with two rear fogs today...

I cross wired mine so that both foglights work. It wouldn't have passed its roadworthiness test in Germany without this being done.

I've stated this before: Why on earth do Europe have an issue over dual rear fog lights. Their job is to make you visible in heavy fog. If somebody mistakes them for brake lights, they've already done their job. FFS.

i think that fog lights should be banned and have decent sized rear lights, most people dont know how and when foglights should be used, why the f**k do any one use them in a built up area? if you need fog lights in a built up area you are going too fast for the conditions ,dont see any parked cars with fog lights,or motorbikes or bicycles for that matter,i will only use my fogs if im out of town on an empty road,as soon as a car is behind me i will turn it off as i want them to see my brake lights come on

That has to beg the question.... Why even turn them on in the first place if that's what you do?
