    confused rear fog light not working

    hi all can any one help just done check on all my lights for the mot and found that the n/s rear fog light is not working changed the bulb and still not working the only thing i think of is that i had a towbar fitted earlier this year could they have damage any of wiring looms when wiring up the towbar electrics. driver side works fine. all i worried about if they would fail the mot for this thanks!

    Don't worry mate, you should only have one on a UK VX.
    The "spare" acts as a fallback for the canbus in event of a brakelight failure

    As already said, you're only legally required to have the one and that one is the offside one. It CAN be hardwired so both are on but it's hassle seeing as you're car is legal as it is.

    Not quite, I don't think it's even wired up. If a brake light fails, a tail light receives higher voltage to act as a brake light.

    They are wired up because can be swapped over using tech 2

    Mmm, which means they can both be switched on via tech 2 also, time to fire up the other lappy

    Only give you option of left or rightnot both

    But defiantly do able if you could tell the ecu somehow

    Too much BS being talked here, with "Tech2" as a smoke screen. The N/S light unit has only 5 wires going to it, with terminal 4 being vacant. The O/S light unit has the full complement of 6 wires. I'd like to see Tech2 get it's soldering iron out and fit the missing wire.....
