Default Does my Vec have a heated winscreen ?

I originally thought the answer was no due to me not seeing an element in the glass like the missus Galaxy has, but aover the last 2 frozen mornings I've hit the front & rear window heater buttons to find that the ice virtually runs straight off the front window loads quicker than it does the rear. Surely this couldn't be just bl00dy good aircon ??? (It's the dual climate one BTW).

    Oh well, cheers guys.
In retrospect I suppose it's pretty acedemic with the aircon being powerfull enough to unfreeze the glass from the inside. Quite impresive really.

Yep, as Mark said the defrost setting on the Climate Control works very nicely indeed - impressed me when I did it for the first time. And this morning when I had to use it to clear the car!

Mine was frozen solid this morning. Started car, turned heater on, blower to screen and heated rear window on. Within 2 minutes all clear

    Really pleased.

Heated front screens are only found on Ford Group vehicles (including their PAG marques). Ford apparently patented the rights.

There must have been some manufacturer doing them as "third party" upgrades at some point then m8, as when I had my Calibra, a bunch of forum members over at ClubCalibra.net did a "group buy" of heated front screens for it.

They are not the only ones with wire element heated screens. Pilkington make this type of screen for Ford, VAG / Seat / Caterham etc etc. as mentioned else where they were originally designed for aircraft during WWII.

Ford own the patent to THEIR screen, not to ALL wire heated screens.
