Default Should i be worried disciplinary

Went in for a disciplinary at work (stagecoach) due to not picking up a passenger due to they missed it cos I was running 2 min early recorded on gps so the assistant manager says I would advise on waiting till there is a union available at a later date we are able to go in without union If we feel up to it so I went in and that all he said so slightly worried

Is it your first disciplinary? You should be ok, probably just a written warning that will stay on your record for 12 months.

My other car. 1972 1641cc slammed beetle. On the road finally!!

Typically 3 disciplinaries then dismissal. Anything other than that - providing you haven't committes groos mis conduct etc - is regarded is unlawful dismissal.

And not that it matters btw but 2mins early? If the person was there 5mins before the bus was due to turn up they wouldn't have missed it - just my opinion though.

They can't take the verbal warnings into account when deciding what your "total" punishment should be. A London Underground employee successfully took LU to a tribunal several years ago and demonstrated that verbal warnings were contradictory if they also counted towards the total of warnings given (in other words, what's the difference between a verbal warning and a first written warning, if they both add the same "points" to your warnings tally), so most, maybe all, employers stopped giving verbal warnings and the written warning became the lowest warning they can give. If Stagecoach still give verbal warnings then these have to be ignored for the purposes of your most recent indiscretion.

What method did you use to record the previous timing point?
How far (both time and distance) was there between this previous timing point and this Bus Stop?
Is this Bus Stop a timing point?

If you used a wrist watch or other external timing device, when did you last calibrate this (prior to the incident)?
If the timing device is provided in the vehicle, did you notice any discrepancy between this and your own external timing device?
If there was a discrepancy was it recorded in the vehicle fault book, or did you make a new record?

    I've found the LU incident:

    http://businessdatabase.indicator.co...1705/88/search

If the earlier, verbal, warnings were "informal" and you weren't given the right to be accompanied by a union rep etc, then they can't bring those up in this meeting.

    rolleyes

Would be easier just to admit it, you saw them heading to the bus stop, they were trying to run to catch you, but you just drove away!! Its what I would do, teach them to be ontime!

This is not what the OP has been taken by the employer to disciplinary for, the employer claims the passenger is reporting the bus did not appear and the employer has compared service timing records against actual vehicle GPS timings, which show the bus was running no less than two minutes early
The passenger is aware of the timetable and so should be able to stand at the Bus Stop at the pre-determined time (sadly there is no legal requirement for the amount of time a passenger must be at the Bus Stop in advance, but it is recommended to be there at least one minute before the service time)
If the bus fails to appear then the passenger can report this to the Traffic Commissioner and the bus company has to fully explain the circumstances

It sounds to me like this is a common occurance on this route, and the corrective action may be to retime (measure) the route
This is quite common as road conditions and vehicles vary
