Engine lumpy now Engine Management Light is on

Hello,

I had a previous thread in relation to the engine feeling lumpy well today it seems worse and now the engine management light has come on.

1. Is there anyway to read the code without expensive garage equipment.

2. Has anyone else experienced this before, outcomes resolutions

There is a way that the codes can be read. Search pedal test on the site

I've tried to do the pedal test break and accelerator pressed down position and key turned to position 2 nothing happens?

Pedal test only works on specific engines/years. you can get a code reader for about £20 on eBay then ask on here if someone can tell you what the codes mean.

Well I've managed to do the Pedal test.

First 2 codes

0170
0302

[John Bishop]

0170 Fuel trim malfunction

[John Bishop]

0302 Cylinder 2 misfire

Cheers John, what would be the cause and fix for this? Sounds expensive :-s

Honestly don't know. You got an andriod or iphone as there is a free code reader you can get. Presume the misfire could be a glow plug or wiring
