Default my car with tuning box removed

as some might know i decided to sell my tuning box due to too much power for wee wifey, so i removed it last saturday in preparation for selling it (still got it by the way!), anyway i went a run in the car today along the m77 to see a mates new shop and f00k me ! the car is soooo sluggish without it, it just fealt lethargic whereas with the box fitted it pulled no bother at all, i honestly never thought the boxes made as huge a difference to the car as they do but after this drive i think ill be putting it straight back on! might even tweak it a bit as the guy who sold me it said it was set at 18 turns and goes to 22 so there is plenty scope for more! im still however prepared to sell the box if anyones interested so pm me

I took mine off recently, decided I'd run it a week without to let the engine run normally for a while .

Got to work (30 miles) & put it straight back on, unbelievable difference, just wish I had £500 to spare for a proper re-map . Really would like the the 160/195bhp sport switched map (I have IDS so the sport switch is fitted & working)

the power that the boxes give is addictive, but how long before your car starts to give the problems others have experienced from boxes that have been turned up??..

i'm still not convinced by tuning boxes.. yes they give power, but at what costs??..

theres probably alot of truth in what you say about the warranty thing mate but £550 for a remap is excessive, im asking £100 for the same results with the option to tune up or down at the turn of a screw, i was scepticle about the boxes too, until i fitted one!

I intend to run my car long term with the tuning box, unless i find £500 burning a hole in my pocket, its been on for 5k so far.

If I have any problems they will be posted, my car covers around 40k p.a. so it should be a good long term test (it's a company car so if i **** the engine i won't be footing the bill)
