    Angry Dirty Backside!!

Whats the score with Vectras...and how dirty they get at the back...I've done 1800 miles since last thursday...so i know it should be quite dirty....
But My god I've never had a car like it...you can't even see the number plate anymore.....And before any of you coppers out there start Jumping up and down...I've cleaned it off...Pre Xmas wash and a bit of TLC is needed this afternoon.

I might do it after Christmas.

I think its because its near vertical, all they spray and sh*t, like when you've been riding a bicycle through puddles.......mines filthy and requires jet washing.....right where's the office jet wash!!!!!!!

There's a thing in fluid dynamics called the "venturi effect". It dictates that any solid body moving through a medium will generate a high pressure region in front of it, and a low pressure area behind it.
Thus, a car moving through the air generates a partial vacuum behind it. This will cause any water or dirt in the air to be pulled into the space behind the car. The vertical rear window on the estate makes it worse.

Spot on phil. I learnt that at aerospace college. Thats how slip streaming works and why lorries get so dirty. The bigger the object moving through the air the more the vacuum at the back.

So why doesn't it stay there
The Corsa C we had has been the worst car I've known. The fact it was black didn't help either.
