    Default garage must-haves

I got a bit of a bonus this week (yay) so am out shopping tomorrow

What is a must have in your garage?

It'll sound sad, but I'm looking forward to getting a garage stool and creeper....no more lying on the tarmac!

Just looking for ideas, don't have a great deal to spend, about £100 in total, but want to start building my garage up...

also, looking to buy a torque wrench (fed up of having to borrow the neighbour's) I only want to have to buy 1, so what Nm range should I look for, that'll do most jobs?

halfords one, goes up to 250nm or such. also get an angle gauge as well (about £5 on ebay) would be needed for some bolts. may also need a smaller torque wrench for finer bolts

The Halfords 150 piece socket set is invaluable. It's often available for £99 on special offer.

Socket set, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 drive. Including flexi ratchets if you can.
    impact gun
    High lift jack

    A good lamp

Halfords do some good torque wrenches, but depends how much you intend to use it, I bought a cheap 15 quid 1/2 inch drive up to 250nm from Argos 8 years ago and it still passed calibration last week.

Blokes in work have got ones that cost over 200 quid and they failed lol
