    Default Floating extractor hoods

Im about to begin a kitchen install for a customer but they have requested a floating extractor to be fitted, assembly is not a problem im more concerned about fixing the unit to he ceiling. If i can locate a joist nr the precut hole in the plaster board roof that will help for strength but if theres no joist close, does anyone know the best way of fixing the extractor frame work to the plaster board with as much strength as possible? Plaster board fixings will be no good as they can be ripped out, only other way i thinking is the butterfly fixings where you push them throught the hole and they open up on the other side! Has anyone got any help hints or tips i could use? Many thanks

Can you lift the floor upstairs and but a piece of wood across between the beams as a stretcher and this will give you something solid to fasten to?

As above, this is the only thing I can thing of which would hopefully offer enough strength to fix it to, ideally it should be fixed to a joist! Do the instructions not give suitable ways of mounting it?
