Managed to get a rear light for my vectra from the breakers. Pulled the roof lining down and found the cable and connected up the light to try it. It didn't work. Am I missing something? Is there a fuse to fit/replace?

Sounds daft, but have you tried another bulb? And is there power at the bulb connections (check with multimeter)
There are two cables... Both of which fit the light... One has two pins in it which is actulay for the reverse sensor kit I think and the other has three pins in it which is for the light.
My 2004 LS only had the two pin cable so I had to solder cable in...
My 2004 SRI has both so fitting the light was easy...
Check out the how to's as this should help with fitting the ligh either way.
Yeah I should check the bulbs. I dont have a multimeter. I wasn't aware there are two cables. I saw I bigger one.
Thanks for the answers.
the front light is the same as the rear so take the plastic over off that and take one bulb out and use that to test if they are working ok.
This was the two cables I found in my SRI if that helps....
The biger cable with the 4 ribon lead whcih says cealing dome is the one you want to use...!
Thanks for that. I'll have a look again later.
Failing that, you could simply run 4 wires from the front interior light to the rear one.
This is what I did, as my "Energy" model did not have any ribbon cables in the rear of the roof lining.
I was too tight to part with £40 for a ribbon cable from the stealers, when 4 wires would do the same job free of charge.
That sounds like a plan!!! Was it fairly easy baring in mind I am no electrician??!!
My LS didnt have the wiring. I just used the how to guide on the site for hard wiring the rear ligh... Works a treat and easy to do... Took me 40 minutes all in including dropping the head lining.
