Default Introducing the new lady in my life

For anyone keeping up with my car situations you’ll know I have just sold my wife’s Astra VXR as it was just to impractical for having 2 kids under 2 with double buggies and the likes… So it’s been sold in favour of banking most of the cash and getting a big run around in the meantime till we can go back to a hot hatch again…

Now while the Astra was up for sale I sourced and bought the new lady below…

    A 2004 1.8 Z18XE SRI with 61K on the clock…

I now have the situation of where I have two vectra’s and I am racing them against each other in the modification section lol…

So having had the new Vectra for 2 months we have installed the sub / head unit, fixed the leaks, serviced the car (boy did it need it), SMD convert her, new rear disks / pads, air filter mod and tints all round. We also have the double exit exhaust lined up to be fitted, a set of eibach pros to be fitted, alloys to be refurbished and a few other choice mods. Oh and she will be getting a full detail as soon as it stops raining which will be in December probably...

What gets me is the two cars are basically the same which I now own… a LS 1.8 z18xe with 94K and a SRI 1.8 z18xe with 63k… and yet they drive and feel quite different… the LS is quicker to respond off the mark but feels sluggish as she revs whereas the SRI is not a sharp off the throttle but fly’s up the res. The SRI gear box also feels tight and quick to shift but the LS feels more stretched out if that make sense. The SRI also has a whining fuel pump yet the LS is 100% fine… All random…

A few quick pics of her... better ones to follow..

Oh an the wife is floating baout now on the site (user name is X23ARL) so I need to watch what im saying when it comes to buying things off ebay. There's no way I can convince her that a VXR interior was only £200 for example

Given what 'Er Indoors and my kids did to my Vectra, I'd save you money and leave it alone and just be thankfull if it's got any paint left on by the time they've finished with it.

Mine looks like it's spent it's life parked in down town bagdad wearing a stars and stripes bumper sticker. lol
