Why do you want to do this??

As an ex Audi Motor Sport Diesel Tech responsible for electronic tuning I cant understand what you are trying to achieve, you will gain nothing in power, in fact you may lose a couple of f/lbs of torque and just increase noise.

    Marc,

There's a user called Signum-steve (or similar) who added a 2nd cold feed from the left of the grille into the airbox. He had good things to report about this. I'd check out silicone or PVC air ductinge online, ebay have it by the metre and you can specify what diameter you wish.

I did the 'airbox mod', removed the baffle thing and fitted a K&N to my other Vec,.... can honestly say I noticed nothing. No difference in noise power mpg or driving feeling. As tatters40 says,.. what's the intended result?

I've got 2 x 40mm cold air feeds going in 1 @ bottom front left & 1 @ bottom front side entry, right hand side. Both have 40mm pipes going to cold air feed, after this mod & the internal mod, the engine breathes much much easier, revs rise much quicker and the whole feel is much more responsive. Once upto around 3000 rpm the thing flies pretty damn quickly.

Similar, nay VERY similar, to the feedback given by another 2 users at least. I am also interested in this mod but am still in the results research phase....

Thanks for the info the reason why is I've taken off the front intake off the air filter and now give a notice roar deep noise so am thinking add some cold air direct into the filter to keep the noise instead of the normal intake pipe

Marc have you taken the top and bottom pipes off the inside of the airbox? Top one is next on my list, then probably to drop the bumper and investigate where I could route a 2nd feed - in red silicone of course

Top and bottom pipes what's these I've taken out the funnel inside the air box (air box mod) and the front pipe that goes from the air box to the front of the car

So you're taking air from the engine bay?
It was my understanding that without a heatshield or enclosure that would detriment performance due to the air temp being higher (and therefore less dense) in the engine bay than the cold feed from the grille....?

Not an issue if you're after the noise rather than the beef. I will definitely be putting a cold feed rather than engine bay feed but each to their own lol

Where abouts are you anyway Marc? Sounds like we have modding preference similarities, I'm sure our paths have crossed on this forum a few times.
