Default Tonights work - VXR bodykit continued - New pics from Thursday now in post 1

Done a fair bit tonight in a last ditch attempt to try and get our VXR rear skirt and diffuser fitted in time for Billing.

Cutting out the pre-marked slots in the skirt for the diffuser to fit over.

Drilling the holes for the parking sensors. I had to use my old 21mm hole saw to create the hole then enlarge them with a 24mm step drill. Unfortunately I hadn't realised when I bought the step drill that it was for a larger chuck than any of my drills have on them, thankfully it was sharp enough for me to use by hand to enlarge the holes from 21mm to the required 24mm for the factory parking sensors *phew*.

Rear skirt finished and ready for diffuser, reflectors and parking sensors to be fitted.

Colour coding the new parking sensor mounts and the old parking sensors (removed from the back of the car and cleaned and keyed with 1200 grit wet and dry paper).

Sensor mounts and sensors after several coats of paint and lacquer ready to fit tomorrow after over-night drying tonight.

All in all happy with it so far and fingers crossed the assembly all goes well tomorrow night and it will be ready to fit Friday morning assuming no major issues fitting it *crosses fingers again*.

THURSDAY EDIT: Diffuser and skirt finally assembled tonight, pop rivetted on the back edge as per Vauxhalls instructions and all stuck down with sikaflex and the sticky pads that were on it. Going to give it a couple of hours to set a bit then will stick the parking sensor mounts in.

Really coming together now, just don't know if we're going to have time to get this fitted in the morning or not, typically it's sodding raining again now. By the way does anyone know if the old original skirt is stuck on as well as clipped? Just wanting an idea of what I'm facing when I remove it, ta.

FRIDAY EDIT: Parking sensor mounts and parking sensors re-fitted.

Old skirt removed and exhausts and bumper cleaned.

Reflectors fitted, skirt now ready to be fitted.

Lol, I was gonna go sit on the patio and spray the bits, it was Amy that insisted I did it in the dining room to avoid dust and crap getting on the wet paint

Wasn't gonna cut into my nice new laminate flooring, the Yellow pages was the most convenient useless thing that would absorb the knife cuts (it's now going in the bin where it belongs).
