Was your nan driving it? ........LOL
LOL, yeah driving miss daisy comes to mind.
I must admit, I was keeping it to a smooth 70 - 75! Also made the change to BP Ultimate instead of Shell optiplex which I have been using for years!
Dunno about u but some times I get a weird sense of satisfaction out of seeing high MPG fig's, probably cos it don't happen very often. managed 35.5 MPG out of my 3.2 GSi and regularly into the 34's on a run. The new car can only dream about MPG fig's like that!!!
I like to play the high MPG game on long runs, just feathering the loud pedal, watching the figures slowly go up...
One of the few benefits of having a turbo charged engine, no boost = low fuel use because it acts like a low compression normally aspirated engine on a partial throttle!
I managed an average of 40mpg in mine on a recent long run (600 miles), which I didn't think was too bad as there was a fair bit of traffic as well!
Sounds good for a petrol engine, Im hoping to break the 60mpg this summer with my cdti, Ive only managed 59. summat so far.
I dont trust those on board display read outs.
