i had my map done at my house by ''promap tuning'' http://www.promaptuning.co.uk/

they were great and took about an hour, there figures were as expected too when i RR'd it a few weeks later

i would imagine very little tbh, they read the ecu, down load the map from pc or where ever and place it onto the ecu overwriting the original programe, egr deletion etc, then you drive the car around, the ecu's iirc are also self learning so change ever so slightly once a few miles are under the wheels after the map, i know this as ''standard remapping'' which is what most tuners offer 99% of the time and a RR run is to show you your money's worth at the end of it, IE the increase in bhp and torque

''live mapping'' on the other hand is done with the car on the RR to start of with and a whole different bag of fish to a ''standard generic map'', well as far as i am aware anyway...

    Default

Go for a RR remap - Ben at MAS performance is top notch. When did mine he started off with the generic map this gave me 189bhp but a big dip in the curve low down he then manually adjusted the the settings a couple of times with power runs in between and eventually I came away with just under 195bhp and a very nice power and torque curve.

after seeing the (lack of) curve that came with the standard remap I wouldnt want to have a generic map loaded again... no 2 engines are the same and so a generic map cant be the best for all engines....
