Default :( So Fed Up - Gearbox spat out the drain plug!!!!

Got home and red fluid dripping out of the gearbox.. Looked and the gearbox drain plug was half out as if someone had undone it!!!!

tried to do it back up and it wouldnt even go in. Undid it and took it out and all the thread has been scripped..

Un-believable! I dont know what to say now. There is absolutly no reason this should have happened. It must have been a weak thread or something where it was overtightened from when I had to chisel it off..

    Gutted.. and stuck!

    Gutted mate.

You can get temporary sump plugs that have like wings that hook on the inside an you tighten down.

May do trick so you can drive somewhere an get a helicoil put in

    Hmm - thats an idea.

Also thinking - It seemed to leak a little anyway since having to chisel the old plug off where is was so tight.. It marked the face that mates with the plug to asume that is where it leaked from..
Thinking that a Helicoil will still leak?? what do you think?

Actually thinking why not just get it welded up! lol... Dont really need it TBH and if I ever do ill just pop the drive shaft out?

I dunno.. Really need a fast fix... Dont care if I lose the drain plug, just as long as the dam thing doesnt leak!!

    Yeah I know .

I dont like it when things break on me for no reason.. Ive worked on cars for years and it REALLY annoys me!!

    Laser do a repair kit.

Its a M18 1.5 plug at the mo so would need to go to M20 1.5.. Like this:

A helicoil then depending on how damaged the face is. File an then maybe use two flat washers with an o ring in between ( one just slightly larger than hole. O ring then larger washer an then screw right should make it deal enough.
