Default Wynn carb & intake cleaner for 1.9Cdti 150

basically i gave this a go today and smoke started coming from the back of the engine and into the cars interior itself. What could be wrong? ive recently blanked egr but i tried to tighten the bolts as much as possible. I sprayed some on the swirl bar and intake the throttle body.

I would suggest that if you got smoke coming from the back of the engine then you have a leak somewhere. When you blanked your EGR did u seal it?..or just bolt a blanking plate on..can you see where its leaking from?..

If the engine was hot when you sprayed it then it does produce smoke as for the smoke in the cabin the air intake is in front of the passenger seat near to your smoke so unless you press the recirc button on the AC control panel it will get in.

Tbh mate I dont know if your 'supposed' to seal the blanking plate BUT I woulda thought that when trying to mechanicaly bolt two pieces of metal together your never going to get a true flat /seal without using some kinda sealent.
Presonaly I'da put a thin bead of silicone sealent between the two surfaces..

I have blanked my EGR with a plate without putting the gasket back in place just the plate and have had no leaks so I doubt it would be the EGR Leaking.
