    Default EGR restrictor plate

Afternoon folks. I recently fitted an EGR restrictor plate (9mm hole) to my 1.9 CDTi 8v 120. Installation was simple, and first impressions were that it did indeed allow the turbo to spool up earlier (around 3-400rpm sooner).

Now, it's been in around a week. I have had a couple of spanner lights which have went away of their own accord (P0400 code - so no worries) but have left a stored code, again, easily removed. However, even though it is smoother and quicker to pick up from low revs, I find it seems to have lost a bit of grunt when higher up the rev range. Has anyone else had similar experiences?

    Dave.

I know it is not quite the same as I have a 150 cdti but I have fitted the Fait restrictor plates and all is fine across the whole rev range. Also no errors at all. Maybe the 9mm hole is not quite the correct size?

I took the EGR off and cleaned it, along with the Boost solenoid, then took the car for a good hiding and everything has settled down nicely.

Happened again today. Spanner light. Seems to come on when I'm driving carefully. If I give it a boootful everywhere, then all is well. Theres no running issues when the light comes on. Weird!
