    Default I was a newbie

I found a veccy which ticked the boxes for me 1.9 tcdi 150 SRI, full service, Sat Nav, Cruize Control (for pickies see http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showth...Potential-noob)

Picked it up on Friday morining 11am, returned it this morning (saturday) for a full refund and my old MG back at 10am. So my veccy ownership lasted all of 23 hrs, is that a record??????

Is this enought to put off veccies??????? as of right now not sure.

what was the problem i here you ask. Well all was fine on test drive and then on the 60 mile drive home. Got home had lunch, then i decided to start it up again, a big puff on smoke came out and didnt stop, stood there in amazement for 5 mins waiting for it to stop, it didnt, drove it down the road then it stopped. I went for a drive and got stuck in traffic, while waiting in traffic it started again ( i was embarased) then the low coolant light came on, once i was moving again all was ok. Parked the car up for the night. This morning I started the car, no smoke, yay i thought, not a minute later it began, I went for a drive to the supermarked (couple of miles up the road) and this time it didnt stop at all. So I decided to top up the water and take the car back. On the drive back (wolverhampton to Nottingham), whilest driving up the M42 the coolant light come on again then the temp shot into the red, i pulled on to the hard shoulder, let it cool the carried on, got off the M1 J25 it did it again, got to with 200 yrds of the garage and again. Got to the garage showed to guy the smoke, the temp, the fact it has lost its coolant, and he couldnt beleive it. He walked off came back in my old MG we went into his office and gave me a full refund and was very appologetic. I expected some sort of reistance from him, but he was understanding and nice. So for me, todays lesson is not all car dealers are nob heads, i found one that was genuinely patient and appologetic.

Not all Veccies are like that mate, I owned a 2.0t Veccies for 3 years and nothing ever went wrong, I now have a signum 1.9CDTi and again mate, I've had nothing go wrong as of yet (hope that hasn't jinxed me!). Don't let it put you off mate, there's bad ones of every car out there. Especially MG's

    Hmmm,,,

That silver facelift looks a slight bit odd IMHO, non-SRi lights front and rear, a VXR spoiler possibly to cover up it didn't have a spoiler? and the ride height is too high for an SRi at the rear mostly but that is the give away.
Yes it has SRi alloys but do you have interior pictures as I suspect a Design under all that make-up

Rockafella, the MG is a ZT-T tdi+ 130 95,000 milea with full service.

Derek Mc, i dont have any interior pick but it was SRI interior. I recon you are onto something tho, cuz when it was on my drive and the more i look at it the more and compared to some of the cars on here the more I thought things didnt add up. When I did vehical checks with the DVLA they came back as an SRI........but i must admit, it went like a moggy with mustard up its ar*e.

It has Design headlights, not the black Sri ones. Mix 'n match motor? Good luck finding another (better) one.
