Default 2.0T not running quite right

I've had a few stabs at getting this sorted but its still not running right in my opinion (2008 2.0t with 40,000 on it)

It starts every time, but always takes a few turns on the starte to fire up - is that normal for a 2.0t? My 1.8 fired on first turn.

Once warmed up it has the well know erratic idle but today it spluttered a bit once started up - almost like a slight misfire.

So heres what I've done in the last few months.
    - New plugs (NGK)
    - New fuel filter
    - New air filter
    - Cleaned throttle body and checked pipes for tightness etc
    - Run through some redex
    - Run through a few tanks of VPower
    - Changed the CTS
    - Put a known working coil pack on each cylinder in turn to see if it helped.

Nothing seems to make any difference so with the 'delay' on starting I'm beginning to think it might be that the timing is slightly out (loose chain?) but it doesn't misfire in normal driving and if you really floor it will leap away like a scaled cat! (not that I do that often, but would the timing being out not make it misfire etc doing that?)

I haven't changed the o2 sensors, but its averaging 35mpg on a motorway commute which I think is pretty healthy and I thought a faulty o2 sensor would really affect the economy!

Is there anything else I can try? I'm a bit OCD when it comes to keeping my car running right!

Increase the idle speed using Tech2 or similar, as recommended by Saab.

Do they specify what the idle speed should be? Seems to idle OK - but 'dip' and recover.

you could try gently cleaning the the lambdas, i don't think they are out of loop until after the choke is off though.. I cleaned mine off with carb cleaner, the second one with vinegar as well then carb cleaner..

I went through all the bits you have done as well, then oneday mine just settled down to normal idling again.. I do thrash my car regularly though, the old Italian tune up as they call it to make sure it still pulls its weight so to speak..

Is it an easy job to remove the injectors? I haven't done that since my old Carlton!

I thought about shoving some Cataclean in to clean the sensors but I'm always a bit sceptical of this snake oil stuff

I may be a sucker BUT after reading various threads, and allways wanting to get things running 'right' I bought the BG44K fuel system cleaner,as recommended.

    Sourced via Ebay.

To be fair my 2T has allways run like a dream over the 4 or 5 years I've had her..BUT since putting a can of this stuff in the tank(and Im only halfway through the tankfull/can combo) I swear she's picking up smoother.1st and 2nd gear are noticebly smoother/quicker and the whole expeirience is positive.

Im that impressed I bought 3 more for friends and family!!!
