You can map out the O2 sensors?

(Stupid Q alert) Why would you want to do that? Are they not important?

could me getting confused here as well lol..

by o2 sensor are you referring to the one of the two lamdas or the EGT sensor? Peeps seems to refer to them all as the same thing when there not.. Lambda 1 is in the top bend of the downpipe just after the turbo but before the cat. the EGT (exhaust gas temp sensor) is in the downpipe just below the cat and was omitted on later models from 2005 onwards. its this EGT sensor that can be mapped out if required and some refer to as 'the 02 sensor'. Lambda 2 sits in the centre exhaust section roughly under the handbrake lever area.

if the lambdas are playing up you can clean them off with vinegar but don't use a wire brush or abrasive....

i cleaned mine off a couple of years ago, i replaced lambda 1 and my engine/ecu did not like it, so quickly put the old one back on.. still got that new replacement lambda floating around my garage..

sounds like it.. you could try cleaning it but they are easy enough to replace.. they come with about 90cm of cable as it feeds all the way back to the engine loom. You can of course just cut the old one off and solder the new one onto the old wires about 6inches back from the sensor, i did this on somebody elses 2.0t for them and it worked fine after.
