    Default Cylinder 1 Missfire

Guys, got my car diagnosed with this problem today, thought it was the dreaded fuel pump but it seems it could be plugs, leads or coil pack, is this a common fault on the 2.2 Direct petrol signum?, how do I know which one to replace?

Also they reset the fault and the car seems fine again, weird, but I havent put the engine under high revs...

its likely to fail again at high revs then.. cylinder one is nearest the belts

I had a misfire in cylinder 4 on my 1.8vvt a few weeks ago, turned out to be the coilpack

before they dismissed the fuel pump did they run live data to see what the fuel pressure is actually doing at the higher end of the rev range ?

They didnt dismiss the fuel pump, but as it was cylinder 1 missfire we assumed it was plugs or coil pack...

I would try running the live data & see exactly where the fuel pressure is , this may well not be it but needs looking at anyway .

Thought I would let you guys know that I replaced the plugs (cheapest option first) and the car is running like a dream again

Good news and the cheapest option. Keep an eye on it though as a failing coil will kill a spark plug.

Hmmm just went out and booted in 2nd and it cut again, could it be coil pack failure?
