I may have a colour screen going spare. My Hu has packed in and it looks more worthwhile to buy both together... Pm me if either are interested.

Hang On Stephen - Are you sure that your Head-unit has packed in? - or is it that you have not wired up the display connector yet? - I have repeated this for both of you below.

Also to the O/P - If you are fitting an aftermarket head-unit, then you will NOT need a CD70 to go with the display, and it should not require any programming, as it will act as if the head-unit is permanently switched off.

You would however need to ensure that you have the scrollers on your steering wheel to work the BC functions on the display, and to clear any warning messages.
Assuming that the Display has BC and possibly Check control fitted.

The display will come up coloured, not just red and white, this will change significantly when you turn on your lights.

As said in all my retro-fit threads, you MUST ensure that you have 2 brown wires in pins 1 and 2 of the display,
and 2 red wires in pins 3 and 5 for the display to work properly.

If you only have onee of each wires, then you would need to -
link pin 1 to pin 2, and
link pin 3 to pin 5.

I hope that helps both of you...

To show the difference between day colours and night colours

day colours first - typical check control warning

    then

night colours - accessing test-mode pages.

@ Robsey. Hopping it is the HU. I added the additional wires using the equipment from a donor loom and connector which was really good advice BTW, and still nothing. Following from your advice i.e. with the steering controls and all working, it seems terminal.

I'm meeting a few of the other Fella's from the NI region next weekend, so I might ask one of them to pop the CD70 in their car first before I sell, I PM'd you about this bit Larrygroke, so should know by the end of the month.

@Marc, I tried to PM you back fella but you're inbox is full.
