    confused 2.2 direct fuel pump failure.will i ever get to the bottom of this?

    My (04 reg) Vectra 2.2 Direct has yet another failed Fuel Pump.Pump & Regulator replaced 3 years ago.Tech 2 investigation at Vauxhall say problem is with Fuel Pump again this time.VX would pay nothing towards cost of replacement last time and again refuse to pay anything towards it this time.They say the problem is with the manufacturers of the pump.
    I do not have the money to pay for replacement of the pump myself.Will a new pump solve the problem anyway.VX did do a recall on the Pressure Regulator,why not the pump.
    Can anyone give me your views on this problem?

    There is a revised pump mate it's a conti one and the fpmsl was recalled they never did fuel pumps it would cost then to much and the answer to ya question is yes it 99.9 percent ya pump I would say

    I,m told that when i had both the Fuel Pressure Regulator and the Fuel Pump replaced 3 years ago the Pressure Regulator was not a modified type and that has caused the pump to fail a 2nd time.I have had the Pressure Regulator replaced 2 months ago i,m told a modified type with a white dot on it.I'm told i need a new pump.The pump i have fitted at the moment is a Siemans type.Can i confirm the manufacturing name of the new pumps.
    Can anyone tell me if anyone is still having problems or am i the only one.

    Believe the newer version is by Continental, but these aren't immune to problems.

    Is anyone but me still having problems with the fuel pump on th 2.2 Direct?

    just had a signum in at work that was playing up , would run for a good while & then it would cut out without warning , ran live data & the rail pressure was under 1000kpa at idel when desired pressure was approx 3800kpa , at approx 3000 rpm the pressure was approx 10,000 kpa when desired was approx 4000 kpa .
    my reckoning was failed regulator that was probably stuck half open , replaced it & hey presto its sorted .

    Paid to have both pressure regulator and fuel pump replaced just under 3 years ago and now pump has failed again and Vauxhall will pay nothing towards replacement of these items when clearly these items are not fit for purpose.Any idea's what i should do next?
