Thankfully it stopped raining enough for me to put my wind deflectors on today.

They look great
I need to refit one of my rear ones looking at yours, I have a gap!!
might treat the siggy to some at Billing this year
Thanks.
I haven't had them on previous cars, but I love them. I haven't opened the windows yet as it recommends to keep them closed for 24 hours to settle, but I think it adds something different to the look of the car. Also, they look good with the newly fitted carbon bits.

im a fan of wind deflectors on front but imo they just look odd on back windows
I must be honest, I'm not a fan of wind deflectors, and not sure why people are...but if its your cup of tea, then go for it. My first question is, do they actually work? Never had a car with them on, so wouldn't know, but whats wrong with the wind blowing in? surely thats what windows are for?
Yeah, they actually work (you should then be able to drive under light rain without catching much water in the car, or getting fresh air opening the windows without having a cyclone devastating all inside the car ), but not sure about the aesthetical bit either.
And another thing : the Veccy must be one of the only rare cars where you dont take a shower when wiping the winsdcreen. Water has to be driven elsewhere on a very smart way... When I use the company's Kia Sorento, I always get caught being drenched by surprise ! LOL
Now I reckon these ones are discrete and thin enough.
The real concern with deflectors is the way they're attached. They generally involve metal clips that keep the gap open so the glass can slip inside, but the common encountered problems are :
- Metal clips falling off, then deflector going away at some critical areas ;
- Metal clips rusting, then breaking ;
- The rubber strips contain metallic reinforcement strips that become loose with age because of the clips forcing them open, leading to visible bumps where the clips sit in (it also explaining why they tend to fall off, actually)
The other problem with deflectors is the plastic becomes brittle after a long exposure to the sun (maybe it's less a problem in UK, but it's a real concern here. All the rubber strips from my windows and the antenna gasket and mast were completely rotten after 6 years because of UV, and my wipers get quickly destroyed to - I think I'll have to look for silicone ones to overcome this), so they end up breaking like glass as soon as you touch them.
I'd then be curious to know what make are these ones, how they look and feel (are they soft enough so they won't break too easily ?), and most important, the way they're fitted to the windows frames.
Could tell us more about them, please, Carl ?
The deflectors I have fitted are Team Heko ones. They are plastic, but very flexible. The Team Heko ones are very much recommended for the Vectra and are worth the money.Originally Posted by Z80
They are held in place buy some double sided tape on the edges and by a couple of metal clips.
