Default 3.0cdti Anyone on here got a good one?

As some of you have read from my other posts my Sig is going back to the seller, they are doubtful they will be able to fix it so I will probley be getting my cash back, I would like to buy another one but all I've read on here are negative reviews on the 3.0cdti, so question is:

How many on here own one and has anyone had relative trouble free ownership or are they a problem engine to steer clear of ?

I don't own one, but my dad has the 3.0CDTi Vectra 06 plate - never had a problem with it, but to be fair he has done less than 40k miles in it. I have driven it on quite a few occasions and it certainly shifts and i'm sure driven nicely you will get a reasonable economy out of it

Hi, I've just read your original Thread and the problems you have experienced - what a nightmare, made worse by the fact a Vauxhall Garage can't seem to repair it - looks like you ended up with a 'bad un' at least the selling garage seems to be doing the decent thing. I think if it was me by now I would have lost all confidence in that particular motor and would let it go, get my money back and start again from scratch. I wish you good luck with it and whatever replace it with.

Thanks all, and I didnt want to tempt fate for anyone either

I have lost confidence in it and ultimately I want a refund and hopefully + costs but as they have offered a courtesy car and atempt to repair I have to let them have a go at least, you never know they might be able to nail the fault and I have many trouble free miles in it, god loves an optamist .

If I do get a refund I really would like to replace it with another 3.0 Sig but they are hard to get hold of which is why I ended up buying this one from the other side of the country.

    Anyone else

I would put your experience on this car down to its high mileage and previous use
Fitting second hand parts to repair a fault is really not the signs of a careful owner

My V6 CDTI has been the best engine I have ever had, in terms of reliability
Yes, it has broken down but the main issue has been diagnosis, but VX are just lazy in my opinion and hope a reason comes up on TECH2, and with this engine this is where the problems begin
    Consequently this delays repair

Overall I am disappointed with the Vectra C
    The paintwork is easily damaged
The suspension is very poor quality, with broken springs and failed shocks, which I have never had any other car before

Finally, the Service Schedule is ridiculous
The 30K miles / 2 years appears great, however the lifespan of the Fuel Filter has been overlooked, and I suspect this is the cause of many issues
Obviously this is a simple fix and replace it every 10K miles / 6 months, however the previous owner may have simply followed the standard intervals, so issues may appear in the future with the fuel system

M8, 73k high milage ? Hell, this is the first car Ive ever bought that had less then 100k on it and Ive never had the troubles I have had with this, I do agree with your point about badly looked after though. Am still waiting to hear when they are coming to collect it.

    Thats certainly the plan Ben

When I got it home today I had a quick nose under the bonnet and noticed oil dripping from where the big rubber hose fits on to the manifold (this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2906929253...84.m1438.l2649)

    Any thoughts folks?
