Thread: Twin Exhaust Question.

    Default Twin Exhaust Question.

My vec, up until last week has perfectly even, level rear pipes.

The local main dealer did a service and MOT on it. One of the advisory's on it was that the 'O/S rear exhaust was unhooked from support.'

I'm guessing they have since hooked it back on (both rubber supports on both sides are now on) the exhaust is p****d.
Strange this was, if it was indeed unhooked (I'm sure I'd have noticed) it was sitting perfectly level.

This, lol, is doing my OCD for these things no good at all. All the brackets look straight and true and are supporting the exhaust. Could it be a simple case of buying 4 new exhaust mounting rubbers and seeing if that fixes it? Are they universal or Veccy specific? What else can I do to straighten them up?

Not even sure which side is the correct height now

Check the rubbers, as one may be pushed further back or forward which causes it to pull up or drop down

left hand side looks slightly lower to me tbh but only by a small amount, go to a decent exhaust place and ask em to sort it for you, they should do it for a drink tbh

    Thanks,
Will try a local place when I can, otherwise I have found the rubber supports I need, wonder if I should just bite the bullet and give 'em a try...
I've also tried to move the rubbers about and it makes no difference (confused now)

Bend the left side hanging brackets up slightly with a pry bar. Or the right side ones down, depending on your preference...

You'll probably find they had a problem hooking the rubbers back on and have just bent the hanging brackets on the bottom of the car down slightly in the process.

Got it sorted by replacing the two rubbers on the passenger side, looks much better now.
