    Default Petrol gauge help

    Hi All,

When i got in the car this morning, the petrol light was flashing at me and the needle pointing to empty - very strange as I only put petrol in the car the day before

The screen is showing in excess of 200 miles left in the tank.

However as I was driving around the needle moved VERY slowly up to the position it should be.

Any ideas as to what the problem is and how to resolve it?

    Thanks peeps

I have a similar problem, the guage only moves if I put more than £15 in the tank and then it takes a good fewm inutes for it to get to where it should be - from what the local dealer has told me, this is just the way it is with vauxhalls...not sure I believe him though

Worth checking the fuel sender unit, possibly faulty.

I'm not familiar with the location/access on the vectra, although most cars access is under the back seats, If you do take a look ensure all the windows are open and take the usual precautions when dealing with flammable/volatile liquids.

Update in this, all seems fine last night and this morning. Looks like this could turn into an intermittent fault.
