Default Castrol Edge 5W-40 for 1.9 CDTI 150?

    Hi
Would it be better to use castrol edge 5W-40 or castrol magnatec 5W-30 A3/B4. Edge is obviously more expensive but is it truly better? I know on the magntec it says recommended by vauxhall/opel but the castrol page suggests edge over magnatec. Which one ?

Why not use GM oil from your local Vx Dealer - good stuff and probably cheaper than the ones you've mentioned.

I've had nothing but problems since I used Castrol Edge 5w-40 TD in my 3.0CDTi. Ever since then the oil only has 6k of life...after that dirt particles start appearing on the dip stick.
    My opinion - AVOID.

0w anything is too thin for the UK, unless it averages below -30c ambient. IMO stick with 5w30
