Default Swirl Valve on a 150 Diesel......

Right, I've cleaned the EGR twice, its now working properly and cleaned the filter on the little solenoid under the slam panel.

The hesitation is still there at say 1200 - 1700 rpm. There are no fault codes showing and can't think of any other things that the problem might be.

It was also pretty lumpy when starting up from cold.

Its a 2006 55 plate with 81k on the clock - I have a suspicion its the swirl valves - would that cause these symptoms? The car has a warranty for another 2 1/2 months or 1500 miles so this would be covered - is it likely to be this old issue rearing its head?

Could be the injector loom for the 3rd injector. If yellow you will have the old ones, if it's the updated ones then they will be blue.

Are the vacuum hoses ok? They are the little black hoses which come off of the vacuum pump in and into the solenoid (the filter you just cleaned). These are prone to perishing.

As said above all could be checked and also boost sensor. Although dirty sensor will cause lack of power low down, no harm in cleaning if you already haven't done it.

I've checked all the hoses - they all appear fine and intact. Where can I find the injector loom??

The loom it as actually the plug, it's about £12+VAT from the dealer. My local dealer supplied and fitted the 3rd injector for £50, however if you get all 4 done it would be about £120.

I'll have a go at the boost sensor tomorrow after the car has had its oil change service - looks like it could be part of the issue - the hesitation is far less noticeable now. Thanks everyone for the help. I'm just remembering my way around this engine

I note that a mention has been made of spraying carb cleaner in through the throttle body to remove any build up of deposits - I can't seem to find a pic of the location of this - any help??
