    Default 1.9cdti 120, low power 'to do list' Help needed

    Afternoon all.

    Following on from my posts on smoking since the Turbo shat it's self, I'm now down on power and still suffering cold start idle issues.

    The Slick 50 engine fuel treatment seems to have worked on reducing the smoke output when the Turbo starts spooling.

    The 'How 2 section' doesn't really list anything on the 120. Can anyone help me out with a shopping list of things to do, ie: Clean/replace air filter, replace leak off pipes, clean EGR (does the 120 have an EGR?) clean throttle body, etc etc...

    If anyone who is knowledgeable of and works on there own 120 engine, is free help out with doing any of the above, I can return the favor if you need any wiring/installs done (hands free, satnav, audio, reverse parking cam/sensors, interior lighting, HID's etc etc. I'm based in West London.

    Can the 'How 2 section' be updated to include what can and cannot be done on a 120 engine?.

    The how2's for the 150 are all pretty much the same for the 120 engine.

    Yes the 120 does have an EGR...

    There's numerous posts with regards to poor staring. Most point to the usual. Starter Motor, Glow Plugs, Battery etc...

    Things to check/clean on 120. EGR valve, boost sensor, vaccum pipes to the boost control valve. Starters are becoming a common starting issue on 120, it appears that they eventually slow up with age, not turning the engine over fast enough for compression ignition to take place. Start with the above and go from there, likely suspect is the egr if high miler.

    Might also be worth checking/cleaning intercooler pipework also check that the intercooler hasn't been damaged (small holes) easy to check with soapy water (look for bubbles when engine is running).
    Have a look to see if the throttle body butterfly is clean and not gunged up
    Only other thing I can think of regarding smoking is that perhaps the pre-cat and main cat may still have oil reside thus causing the smoke.

    Before you spend any money get the car scanned with a Tech 2 or Vaux-Com diagnostic software.
