Default Inner tire wear on rear

I nipped into Mr Tyre yesterday to get a slow puncture repaired and when the guy took off the wheel we could see that the inner side of the tyre was worn badly. The wear was probably about 2" wide right on the edge. But the wear did not seem to be even, it was worse every 4 inches or so all the way round the tyre, but the worn spots were very evenly spaced and totaly symetrical if you know what i mean.

The guy thought it was the upper bush? He wiggled the wheel but i could not see any movement at all.

We checked the other side and it was identical.

Will try to post a pic later once i get a chance.

It's very common. Sometimes it's the outer bush in the upper control arm that causes it, sometimes it's the rear camber being wrong. Your tyres might start making a droning noise soon, just like a failed wheel bearing.

When he wiggled it was the weight of the car on the wheels?

If not with the car parked pull the top of the tyre towards you as hard as you can and see if there is any play.

Were the Tyres brand names? As budgets do tend to wear unevenly

The tyres are pirellis so not cheap ones. And the car was jacked up when he wiggled it. I think i may see if i can get the tracking / camber checked out somewhere.

Yes it has, eibach pro springs and bilstein b6 shocks. Think about a 30-40mm drop over standard

Did you get it tracked and camber set after it was lowered?

Have you done the check I posted as getting the camber and tracking checked with worn bushes is a waste of money.
