    Default newbie needs some help!

hi everyone first would just like to introduce myself as im new, im nathan iv got a mk4 golf gti turbo and just bought myself a vectra 1.8 club for the daily grind, now my problem is i bought it as spares or repairs cheap with a suspected immobiliser problem, got it home had a look round and theres no eml light on or anything and when i turned the key the rely under the glove box clicked but wont turn the engine over, couldnt get my head around it so decided to take the key apart to find there was no chip in there, so got an old one off a corsa and shoved it in ( new it wouldnt work but just to see if there was any difference) and now when i tryed to start it there is a padlock sign on the dash which there should be but still no engine turning over, now my question is why is the relay clicking when there is no chip and why doesnt it click when there is a chip in the key, also the motor in the heater is on when the ignition is on but when u try and start it it goes off is this normal? sorry for the essay guys hope someone can help

you couldnt have a worse problem mate it seems a job for a auto electrician i think you could try changing the relay first also droping a relay on the floor and refitting it has worked for me in the past lol! think you might struggle with this one sorry mate
