    Default EGR Issues

Hi guys, although I no longer have my Signum, I have recently purchased a 2006 Saab 9-3 1.9 TID (150) Auto. It has 81k on the clock

I've been having an EGR related issue (the usual hesitation at low revs) so I took it off, cleaned it and refitted it.

On refitting it, there was still a bit of hesitancy so I stripped it off again and found the valve was still sticking slightly. After a further clean, and its now as clean as I can get it (although not as clean as I would like).

Its going for a 400 mile motorway run next week which should help clear it out, but if the problem persists am I looking at a new EGR valve or are there any other issues that may be causing it? There are currently no fault codes either, so not sure where else to look.

Does it hesitate when you demand power or hesitate while crusing?

When pulling away from a stop there is a hesitancy, but it seems fine on the motorway when I boot it - it seems to pick up fine then.

Both the solenoid and valve seem to move freely after the 2nd clean. I'll take a look at your other thread. Cheers

I've read your thread with interest..... I'm a little rusty on this engine as Its been 3 years since the Signum went - where can I locate that apparently troublesome part in your thread?

Its under the bonnet catch on the slam panel, if you follow the little vac pipes to the front of the engine you'll find it tucked underneath

Thanks for that - I'll take it for a run after the latest EGR clean in the morning - if I dont get any progress I'll try that fix - I'll also do the airbox mod and see what else is possibly lurking around in there.
