    Smile Potential noob

    Hi All,

    I'm Andy from West Midlands.

I'm about to buy my first ever VX......but there is a dilena.

I have found 3 potential buys all are diesel SRi 150's. 2 are facelift and the othter is a pre-face lift. The 2 face-lifts have 66K and 70K on the clocks and the pre has 58k and is almost a grand cheaper than the others. All have full service which I have had a look through.

So the dilema is do I go with my wallet and buy the pre-facelift or spend the extra and go with my heart and go for one of the facelifts. Its so hard, looks wise they both have things I like and dislike, but i havn't driven the pre-face yet.
Is there a big diffence in the drive betwwen the two.

Any thoughts guys, cuz i'm sure that some of your guys have had both.

    Thanks

    Andy

I actually prefer the look of the pre-face lift model, even though I've got that model by default anyway. I also prefer Hatchback (my model) and Saloons for looks, but actually prefer Estates for practicality.

Never been one to drive cars for looks, I mean, I drove an Audi 80 1.9-TDI Estate, disgusting to look at those things, but it had 400,000 miles on the clock when I got to the point it was costing to much to get it through the MOT!

Back to Estates, I had the same Dilema, To get an Estate I'd have had to spend alot more, so opted for a less practical (but still practical enough) Hatchback for a much better price.

IMO the preface interior is outdated and square looking as the dash is different facelift is more modern look inside aswell as the front end many things can be retro fitted cheaply into the facelift that Vauxhall dropped on cost cutting I've installed just about everything from the preface lift into my facelift so got most of the toys

The dash is the more or less the same in both, the facelift got different style clocks and different inserts on the dash, but thats about it.

I had an early pre-face (3.2 V6 Elite) and loved it, it felt so much better put together than the face lift Vecs we had at work, and it had loads of equipment, However if i where to venture down the Vec c route again it would be a facelift, purely because of the age thing.
