    Default Grease

    No.. not that grease.

I need to get some silicon grease or spray (heard grease is better) for my window runs (or whatever there called). Im out tomorrow picking up a new window mechanism so i have Wickes on the way anyway as well as a midwest motor factors up the road.

Whats the best general purpose stuff to get? Or does it just not matter as long as its called "silicone grease". Since i dont enough to use a decent amount of it, i was hoping whatever i buy i could use pretty much anywhere i need to grease (door hinges, locks, window runners e.c.t.).

About the only stuff ive ever bought is copper grease, but im guessing that has limited uses (or its just too ****** expensive to be suggested for every grease job?).

So yeah just after your opinions really on whether i can just get some general purpose stuff (if such a thing exists) and if there is a specific few brands/names which you would recommend.

Also if i go for grease rather than spray, does anyone have any tips on how to grease the window runs. Will a cotton bud work? Or should i just buy the spray to be sure?

Thanks in advance for any advice

P.S. When you read the how-to's on removing door panels, follow them quite well and dont get too annoyed too quickly, otherwise you end up with a handful of these red plastic bits.

This is the sort of stuff you need
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Holts-RL2R-1.../dp/B00518H8Z6

Should do the job nicely and it's not a heavy grease that will stick to everything else as well
