    Default Chuffin Finance Companies....

    /RANT

    Finance company confirm payment for new car on Monday, nothing in garages account by Friday.

    Finance company "oh sorry there is an error, you will have to collect another time"

    My response - "I confirmed everything with you verbally and via email as I need the car for work next week! One cat between me and the other half, two kids and me travelling the country with client meetings you get the idea."

    The finance company then said "well we have sent another confirmation, so the garage should release today".

    Wait, why the hell would a garage release a car on a confirmation email when your last confirmation email wasn't accurate???

    Garage owner - lovely bloke, very helpful just wants the money in his account before giving me the keys.
    Don't see a problem with that myself, I wouldn't give someone a car on the promise of some money at some point in the future.

    Finance company - "well we have done everything our side correctly, it was just an error"

    That was a direct quote from an email from them, seriously, they have done everything properly except for the error they made that is leaving me without a car for a week and am having to rent a damn car now as cannot get to the garage to collect for another ten days (due to the afore mentioned work)...

    Anyone else think intelligence testing should be mandatory before the title Manager is given to someone??

    That one word - Santander - should have told you all you need to know - their Customer Service is shocking.

    Santander - i hate them, i've had to wait a week to get my new car as they didn't send a letter out to me, spoke to them on numerous occasions, 'we have sent the letter to you' ok no problem, can you email / fax me a copy as i need it today, 'oh sorry we don't keep copies' wtf how can you not keep copies of financial correspondance, its illegal.

    Sent them a snooty email and copied in the FSA and Financial Ombudsman, still no letter though

    Either way get the new car tonight

    Oh, good show on the new car

    I have dealt with the FSA before & just wasted my time. FYI, if you do need to complain about a financial service you must go through the companies complaints process first, the FSA and Ombudsman will not look at a case where that hasn't happened. It's all in the process with them...

    They are a bunch of "insert various expletives here" but at least I will get the car next week instead of a fortnights time

    Can you tell I found the smilies button???

    To go to FOS you must have giving the finance company 8 weeks to investigate from date of lodging the complaint before FOS will even look at it.

    I got a bit of a result from the FSA when I had my dispute with Santander - although they wrote to me to say they couldn't help until I'd exhausted Santander's complaints process (which had been going on for over 2 months), they also sent a letter to Santander asking them to resolve my complaint. Their letter went to a team that only dealt with FSA issues, and they resolved my complaint promptly and also gave me £50 compensation for the many hours I'd spent on the phone trying to get their retarded colleagues to find their one collective brain cell.

    If you take it to FOS then the company you are complaining against will automatically get an £850 charge regardless of whether they uphold your case or not
