Default Vectra C Estate Life (2008) Alarm Issues

Car Alarm goes off approx 5-mins from being set – this only started yesterday.
I’ve looked over the forums and tried a few of the mentioned options.
Checked each window quarter panel for breaks – Yes one was “open-circuited”
I removed the two cables and shorted out the contacts – alarm still goes off after 5mins.

I then removed the second set of contacts (just in case) on the other window and shorted these out – the alarm still goes off.

Unsure if there are any contacts within the rear window – can someone advise were they are and how to get to these.

I’ve now removed fuses 21 & 23 – the alarm no longer sounds but I think this has disabled the alarm…..

I’ve no Tech2 equipment or alarms data on my dash (basis car only)

Can anyone shed any light on this.

    Thanks

Do you have a tow bar? I had the same problem with my estate - when it was still under warranty - Vx electrician found cause was a short off the tow bar wiring connection into the loom.

Read somewhere that the rear demister on the estate acts as a sensor for the alarm just like the rear side windows. Would imagine you would need to take the trim off the tailgate to get to the connections.

I was thinking something similar - unsure how to take of all the trim without beaking it. Does anynow now are the cables located at the bottom of the window need the door lock.

You could eliminate it by pulling the heated rear window fuse off the rear fuse box.

no difference removing fuse 4. I've removed fuse 21 and put back fuse 23. I don't think the alarm will now operate - can anyone confirm.

have you tried pressing the running man button to disable the ultrasonics when you lock the car ??
this is the easiest way of eliminating a fault within the sensors .
