Dull knock/clunking from passenger front suspension when going over bumbs (1.9cdti, 55 reg 98,000miles)

Hia. Over the past couple of thousand miles my car has had a strange knocking that occurs only when going over speed bumps or even slight holes in the road. Its a distinct dull clunk thats coming only from the passenger front.
Any help from people who have had similar things diagnosed or fixed would be appreciated as I'm going to have a go at fixing it myself.

I too have got the same noise, only since fitting my new suspension though. Perhaps its the top mount?

Sound like top mount had same problems on both of my Signums. Cheap easy fix.

Mine has been doing this the last couple of days but not all the time its been too wet to go check them just now so it has to wait till it stops raining if it ever does stop.

Had similar experience but on both sides..in fact it sounded at times like it was coming from any where around the underside of the car....hence a visit to a motor mechanic friend of mine who checked over the suspension bushes front & rear, wheel bearings, steering, exhaust knocking the bodywork etc, etc...he found the front A R Link Bars( Drop Links) had play in them....commented on in the thread below in response to another topic....

The car is a 55 reg Facelift Club Spec Hatch with the Z18 XE pre VVT engine...

Knocking now gone completely.....my money would be on those items...based on my experience..

I have the same noise too... droplinks and ARB bushes done, noise is still there so its the top mount bearings next.

it could any of the 3 mentioned above they are all common faults on the vectra c

1 drop links

2 arb bushes

3 top mount bearings

4 check on radiator mounts aswell

5 engine mounts

all of these have been mentioned in peoples threads on here
